Optimising images for the online shop

If you’re here, it’s probably because you couldn’t upload your photos to a product, and the reason is almost certainly that they’re too heavy for an online shop.

Let me explain. Photos straight off a phone or a camera aren’t meant for the web: they’re too high quality and too heavy. It would be dreadful to visit an online shop where every photo weighed a megabyte or more.

So the sensible thing is to cut the file size and dimensions as far as you can by compressing and resizing them.

You can do that a few at a time on sites like iloveimg. But we prefer a quicker way that lets you resize and compress thousands of photos in one go before uploading them to your Catinfog products. Have a look at the video:
